Camile Juárez (Maya K'iche') is a visual artist and photographer based in Mexico. Camile's work investigates the conflicts that arise in our cultural and social relationships due to imposed identity borders that actively generate racial tensions and conflicts. Her images are born from what it means to live in a tight-knit community, focusing on the emotions and affective ties that are formed as a result of that.
Camile began her artistic training at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas in Guatemala City. She also completed a certification in Photography and Photographic Project Management at Fototeca Guatemala in 2017. She has studied Contemporary Art at the Creatorio Artístico Pedagógico (CAP), Anthropology at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, and Film and Audiovisual Production at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica in Mexico City.
Her work has been exhibited in Uruguay, the United States, Mexico, Colombia and throughout Central America.
